Palisades Interstate Park is part of more than 100,000 acres of park lands and historic sites managed by the Palisades Interstate Park Commission. NJ section was commission’s first acquisition after its formation in 1900. Bergen County’ secion is about 12 miles long and about half mile wide. It covers 2,500 acres and has been designated a National Natural Landmark. Here you will find 30 miles of hiking trails, two public boat basins, a boat launching ramp, four riverfront picnic areas, a scenic riverside drive, a cliff-top Parkway with three scenic overlooks, a nature sanctuary, and historic sites. All that just minutes from Manhattan.

Henry Hudson Drive

Henry Hudson Drive scenic road was constructed between 1916 and 1940. It begins at the Edgewater-Fort Lee border and winds along the Hudson River for about seven miles. Ends at the Apine boat basin and picnic area.

General Information

Henry Hudson Drive is open to cars and bicycles during daylight hours from mid-April to mid-November. At times the Drive is closed to all vehicles due to tree falls, rock slides or other emergency situations.
